Give your print that little bit extra
In addition to a glossy coating or matte lamination, you can also finish your print with a glossy laminate. This 26 µm laminate is applied after printing using our laminating machine. The glossy finish gives your print a bright, fresh look that makes colours pop off the paper, while also adding an extra layer of protection.
The benefits of lamination
A glossy laminate gives your print a bright, glossy finish while protecting it against scratches, dirt, moisture and splashes. This makes glossy lamination a great choice for products that are frequently used or need to stay looking good for as long as possible.
Keep in mind that the edges of the print are trimmed after lamination. This means they are not completely sealed, so moisture can still enter through the edges.
Glossy lamination offers more protection than a glossy coating and helps keep your print looking good for longer.
Glossy laminate and paper types
Not every paper type is suitable for glossy lamination. Some papers have a deeper texture, which can prevent the laminate from adhering properly. That’s why glossy lamination is only available for a selection of our paper range.
You can choose glossy lamination for the following paper types: Natural Card, Card, Old Dutch, Linen, Luxury Pearl, Eco Fibre Paper and Tulip Bulbs.
Our favourite applications
Covers: Give the cover of your book a glossy finish and some extra protection. The laminate makes the cover more durable and helps keep your book looking good for longer.
Menus: Spills happen, especially with menus. With glossy laminate, that’s much less of a problem. Simply wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth.
Paper types: Glossy laminate can be applied to several paper types. Our favourite? 350 gsm Card. Its smooth surface allows the laminate to really shine and gives colours a bright, glossy appearance. Looking for more contrast between the texture of the paper and the glossy finish? Try Natural Card.
