Different finishing options for your manual

Manuals are often printed in A4 format, but A5 or A3 works just as well. If you have a custom size in mind, you can easily check this in our online ordering module. You choose the paper type we use to print your manual:

  • 80 gsm paper

  • 100 gsm paper

  • 160 gsm paper

  • 250 gsm paper

  • 350 gsm card

Supplying your manual

  • Margins: allow a safety margin of 15 mm on the binding side and 5 mm on the other sides.

  • File setup: submit your file as a single PDF with separate pages, all in the same format.

  • Full cover spread: if you want the spine of your manual printed, supply the cover as one spread with front, spine, and back on a single page.

Our tips

If you are unsure about the finish, start by thinking about the format. Smaller formats are convenient on the go, while larger formats offer more space for explanation. Also choose a binding that suits how the manual will be used. A spiral binding lies completely flat and is ideal for writing. A perfect binding looks cleaner and more professional. If you want lined paper, include this yourself in your design.

Zebra 2 PDF manual printout

The quality of the printout of Zebra 2 software synthesizer PDF manual was topnotch. I'll continue use this service in future for printing manuals. Just a little bit of improvement to the English language user experience would be nice, adding that it is already as it is very usable.

This time they failed AND FIXED WITHOUT HASSLE, very nice book from PDF, swift shipment

This was my second experience after a succesful first one with PrintEnBind. This one was less standard ... a large equipment manual I wanted to have at hand on paper printed with clear chapter-separation and only specific pages in color in order to save printing costs. * PDF A4 size, 216 pages (incl. front/back of book) * Colored tables/illustrations/icons on only a limited number of pages (no real high quality-pictures) Had it printed as a book: * A4 Size * Double-sided, front and back single-sided * Firm 100 gram paper * Black and white with a few manually selected pages in color * Seperation sheet ("scheidingsvel") added manually before the first page of each chapter (also lets each chapter start at page on right side) * Wire-o binding (metal spiral black) * Front printed + transparant (this uses 350 gram paper and adds an extra plastic sheet at the front) * Back white + transparant, and back printed (uses 350 gram paper, transparant adds an extra plastic sheet at the back) * Round corners * Default document check * Shipment via post (not urgent) Ordered on Sunday, arrived on next Tuesday (first print, reprint on Thursday). Since the website did not allow for a preview to be shown (for unclear reasons) I was not able to check the final result I could expect. So I double checked the separations sheets positions and pages to print in color twice. At arrival I checked the book and found the separation sheets (they are a kind of cyan color) inserted at the right position, however several of the pages I ordered color printing for were printed in black and white only. Contacted PrintEnBind about this matter via website-chat (which they respond to very fast) and they also came to the conlusion that my order was specified as it should be but that the printing process didn't run like ordered. They immmediately offered me a reprint which I received an e-mail for and should be able to receive by post next day. Since I did not receive an e-mail of shipment that evening I checked the status of the reprint and found it was on hold internally at PrintEnBind for some reason. So next day I contected them via chat again and they explained that the process of printing seemed to fail on combining the adding of separation sheets (which they had as a new service) and color printing of specific pages in a single print. However at the end of the day they had the book reprinted and shipped as I was informed of via e-mail. Next day I received the book and indeed it was now fully printed as ordered and as a kind of apology a discount-code was given for an extra Euro 7,50 off at a next order (and I now had the first print as an extra copy of the manual I could spoil with writing remarks in). So PrintEnBind failed at first but did fix things fully to my expectations and without a hassle. That's the kind of companies I like to do business with. And also this time the 100 gram paper was surprisingly good quality. Due to the plastic cover sheets and rounded edges I have a printed manual that is "every day use" proof.
