We understand that not everyone has graphic design experience. Luckily, creating a printed spine doesn’t have to be difficult. For almost every file type and book thickness, we’ve created a handy template. You can quickly download these templates here and start designing right away.
It’s important to know the thickness of your book. We’ve made that easy too. When you select the product “Book”, choose the option for a printed spine and upload your interior file. Then go to Delivery specifications → Dimensions, where you’ll find the exact spine thickness. With this information, you can download the correct template and get started immediately. This way, you avoid creating a spine that is too narrow or too wide.
Normally, we don’t work with spreads, but for covers we make an exception. For a printed spine, we need the entire cover as one file. Meaning the back cover, spine, and front cover are all connected. This allows us to create a perfectly aligned print without any shifting.
