What color schemes are beautiful?

The use of colors is an important part of document design. However, finding colors that complement each other perfectly, match images also present in your document, and/or evoke a certain feeling can still be a big challenge. Fortunately, there are several online tools available to help you find a suitable color scheme.

Adobe ColorĀ

This Adobe program offers multiple options for creating color schemes. You can create palettes in a color wheel based on various "rules for color harmony." Another useful feature is uploading an image, upon which palettes are generated for different "color moods."

Colordot

This program is less advanced than Adobe. Instead of suggesting schemes based on rules or images, it allows you to create your color scheme by moving your mouse across the screen. Once you've found the right color, you can click on the screen to save it, then continue searching for the next color.

Coolors

This website offers a generator that creates palettes when you press your spacebar, but it also has a page with trending palettes and a tool to create color palettes based on an image. Additionally, you can determine the contrast between two colors on the website, and it immediately tells you whether that combination is suitable for large and/or small text.
